RICH IN HISTORY.

Albion was once home to one of the earliest mills on the northern coast, built in 1851 by Captain William Richardson. Although the mill closed in 1929, remnants of the mill are scattered about in the harbor. The Albion River Bridge, built during WWII when concrete and steel were in short supply, the bridge was built of salvaged wood and treated with copper azole preservative. It is the last standing wooden bridge on HWY 1 in California.
